A new look for check-in, and printouts back in order

At the entrance, on the morning of the ceremony, the people greeting guests have a few seconds for each one. They have to find the guest, recognise them and show them their seat, often without ever having seen them before, while the queue grows behind. The March updates, from 3.1 to 3.5, start from there, and they also make most of last winter’s work available.

Check-in

The check-in page has been redesigned for someone standing at the entrance with a tablet or a phone in hand. The seat number stands out, the guest’s name is bolder, and the buttons for marking entry and exit are all on the right. The ceremony title, date and venue appear at the top.

If the person’s record has a photo, check-in shows it. The people at the door do not know every dignitary by sight, and a face helps more than a surname. The same page can follow several ceremonies, which helps when there is more than one on the same day.

People added directly to the seating plan, without an invitation, now also appear in check-in and in the ceremony summary.

Printouts

We have rebuilt the PDF printouts: place cards several to an A4 sheet, folding tent cards, seat cards in a three by two layout, the list by seat and the list for the people at the door. Long names wrap or shrink instead of running off the edge. Dates on these printouts are always printed in Italian.

What we announced

These updates make available the features we wrote about in recent months: the seating plan that updates during the ceremony, the reply deadline for invitations and users with an end date. You can also remove the photo from a person’s record, which was not possible before, and organisations that ask for it can let staff sign in with the same credentials they use for the office computers.
