Coming soon: a live view of the hall during the ceremony

On the day of the ceremony, the staff at the entrance know who has arrived, and the staff in the hall often do not. We are working on a view of the seating plan, inside the ceremony summary, that updates as guests are checked in at the entrance. From there you see which seats are taken and which are still empty, without having to ask the ushers.

Along the same lines there is an app for checking guests in from a phone, meant for the people at the entrances. Both will arrive with one of the next updates, and we will write about them when they are available.

Lists that tell you more

The same update changes the lists too. Next to each invitation you will see the number of accompanying guests, with a mark when the guest is sending someone in their place. The invitation list will record the date and time each reply arrived: when only a few days are left and you need to chase, you see at once who has not been in touch.

The seating plan’s guest list will show each person’s precedence code, so if an arrangement looks odd you can check from there why someone ended up in that seat.

Finally, one word changes: in the Italian interface the menu item “Palco” will become “Platea”. It is the name offices use for the hall, while the old term made some people think only of the speakers’ stage.
