Cerimoniere goes web

A protocol office has several people working in it, often in more than one building, and they all need the same data: the same registry, the same protocol, the same guest list. One copy that has drifted out of step is enough to send an invitation to the wrong office holder.

From March there is a new version of CerimoniereWeb that runs in the browser, with one archive for the whole office. Each user signs in with a name and password, or with the organisation’s network credentials where that is set up, and sees the menus for their own role: administrator, secretariat, or read-only secretariat.

The registry

Organisations, offices, appointments and people, with addresses, email and phone numbers. For the armed forces there are ranks and branches too. A single-holder office, such as a prefect, can only have one holder at a time, and the software checks this against the dates.

Protocols

A protocol is a tree of groups: by appointment, by rank or by organisation. Groups can be moved up and down and attached to a parent group. Each appointment carries its own precedence code, and you can search by that code.

Ceremonies

You create a ceremony, choose which branches of the protocol to invite, and the invitations are generated for you, already in order of precedence. Organisations with several sites, for example a regional headquarters and its provincial commands, each work on their own data within the same installation.
